If you have a driver installed that's working properly, that is the one to use.

Use the driver that works and hide the driver that Windows Update installs. >I am installing my previous intel graphics driver then it's working properly >Today I further rollbacked my display driver<<<<<<< This is pretty easy to do, but please reply back to this message if you would like more help. Roll Back Driver button in the device properties and Roll Back to the driver file that does work.

You need to uninstall those drivers in the Device Manager or use the The instructions to use it are easy to understand. Run the wushowhide.diagcab tool to hide that update.
I don't know if Samsung has an auto-detect system feature.Ĭhange your Advanced Options in Windows Update to " notify to schedule restart." This setting will not allow updates to install automatically. Change it back to Automatic once you have the correct driver installed. I don't know your model number, so I can't point you to anything specific.

Visit Samsung support too see if there is a recommended Windows 10 driver and to look for more support information. Were you able, then, to find a Samsung driver that worked for you? The different configurations must run in the millions. Imagine the number of computers and devices out there in more than 160 countries that Windows 10 is going out That webpage says "temporarily," because some computer and device manufacturers have not yet developed specific drivers to use with Windows 10. I just used this tool myself about an hour ago and the offending update is hidden. What is the model of your Samsung laptop? Here is a link to the tool I recommended in one of the previous messages in this thread. My reply to him has not been marked as an answered question. (This is using the graphics driver, of course – generic PnP monitor won’t support a second monitor.I am assuming that the fix suggested to RAJANHANSORA worked. I can connect a second monitor, and the second monitor works fine. It doesn’t start bright then go dim, as if BIOS starts it bright then something else dims it. Two other things that might be significant: 1. But I’d like to get this computer working again, at least for a backup. Being completely fed up with the constant updates and the resulting instability of Windows, I may do this anyway.

O Or I can throw this PC out and get a Mac. Having done so recently, it wouldn’t be that big a deal to do again – but it’s still a pain, I’ll have to endure about 4 hours of Windows updates, and I’m not sure it’ll fix the problem. O The only thing I can think of is to wipe the HDD and start over again. O I’ve searched the internet for any information related to this problem. O I checked BIOS for any setting related to screen brightness. O I disabled/re-enabled and uninstalled/reinstalled the default driver. It’s not re-installing now, but the brightness is still low. O I uninstalled the graphics driver and checked “delete software.” Restarting automatically reinstalled it again.
The control says that the brightness is all the way up, but the screen is as dim as the lowest setting and moving the slider changes nothing. O Obviously, I’ve tried the usual suspects – power settings, automatic brightness control, changing brightness from the settings menu rather than the buttons. It’s now locked on the lowest setting, and nothing is working to fix it. Assuming this fixed the whole problem, I stupidly tried to use the brightness adjust button again. Recently my HDD died, and I had to re-install Windows 8. When I restarted the computer, the automatic installation of the default driver brought the brightness back up. The third time it happened, I had to fully uninstall the graphics driver, delete the software, and uninstall the default driver. Switching to generic PnP monitor restored the brightness, and the brightness stayed up when I re-installed the graphics driver. The second time it happened, I had to fully unistall the graphics driver and delete the software. The first time it happened, I updated the graphics driver (Intel HD 4000), and that fixed it. Ever since I “upgraded” from Windows 8.1 to 10, the brightness adjust buttons immediately make the screen change to the lowest brightness setting – unusable in all but near-darkness. I have a Lenove Ideapad z400 that came with Windows 8.
